Colorado Property Tax Assesment Time!
April 21, 2009 by Bob Schenkenberger · Leave a Comment
Every other year, Colorado counties re-assess real estate values. This valuation is then used in conjunction with the mill levy each county sets to determine the amount of your property tax.
These valuations can at times be very inaccurate and as a property owner, you have the right to appeal the assessment by the county. Without fail, every time the assessments come out, I get flooded with calls from clients wondering if they should appeal their valuation.
Well, in anticipation of this years assessment, I have partnered with an online company that will let you see if your assessment is reasonable. PropertyTaxSlash.com offers you the ability to check and see if you may have a case to lower your valuation, and thus lower your property taxes! Here are the details:
- Have your county assessment handy. You should receive it in the mail on or before May 1st.
- Go to www.PropertyTaxSlash.com
- Select the “Check Your Value” link
- Enter and confirm your address information
- Enter the County’s Valuation your received, and hit the “Calculate Now” button
- This part is totally FREE!
- If you find your value may be high, and you may benefit from an appeal, you can get all the appeal documents for a discounted fee of $39.95. This is a $10 savings!
- You only have until June 1st to appeal the assessment, so go check it out today
If you know anyone else who may benefit from an appeal, please feel free to pass along this information, as well as the Coupon Code!
